Abstract U ovome završnom radu približit ćemo temu digitalizacije i kako ona može utjecati na empatiju i inteligenciju djece. Okruženi smo digitalizacijom i ona je svuda oko nas te znatno utječe na najmlađu populaciju, djecu. Cilj ovog rada je razumjeti kako uporaba digitalnih uređaja može biti povezana s empatijom i inteligencijom djece, uočiti i pozitivne i negativne strane, odrediti rješenja i ciljeve. Istraživanja u literaturi pokazala su pozitivne strane uporabe digitalne tehnologije, od edukativnih igra, poticanje mašte i kreativnosti, učenja na razne načine, sve do onih negativnih strana poput nasilnih sadržaja, smanjenje kvalitete sna, loše prehrambene navike, sjedilački način života i brojne druge. Naglasak je stavljen na empatiju djece jer je empatija ključna točka između inteligencije i društvenog ponašanja. Korištenje digitalne tehologije može biti povezano sa smanjenom interakcijom djece s društvom jer dijete provodi više vremena u zatvorenom, samo sa sobom, a ne igrajući se na otvorenom u slobodnoj igri koja razvija maštu, a i empatiju jer dijete provodi vrijeme s drugom djecom što može utjecati na djetetovu sposobnost prepoznavanja tuđih emocija, odnosno empatije. S druge strane, istraživanja su pokazala da postoje razne aplikacije i kompjuterske igrice koje promiču empatiju tj. prepoznavanje tuđih osjećaja i suosjećanja s likom. Povezanost digitalizacije i inteligencije također se pokazalo da ima svoje pozitivne i negativne strane. Edukativne i zahtjevne aplikacije mogu potaknuti dječje razmišljanje i to može dovesti do razvijanja inteligencije, dok prekomjerno korištenje digitalnih uređaja samo u svrhu zabave može utjecati negativno, dovesti do smanjenja dječje koncentracije i pamćenja. Naglasak je stavljen na roditelje i odgojitelje koji imaju ključnu ulogu u stvaranju zdravih navika i pravilnom korištenju digitalne tehnologije i balansiranju modernog i tradicionalnog pristupa. Na kraju rada iznijete su ideje i razmišljanja o tome kako uklopiti digitalnu tehnologiju u dječje vrtiće.
Abstract (english) In this final paper, we will explore the topic of digitalization and its potential impact on children's empathy and intelligence. We are surrounded by digitalization and significantly influences the youngest population, children. The goal of this paper is to reveal how usage of digital techonolgy can be connected woth children's empathy and intelligence, by recognizing both the positive and negative aspects, and propose solutions and objectives. The literature highlights the positive aspects of the usage of digital technology, such as educational games, fostering imagination and creativity, and providing diverse learning opportunities. However, it also sheds light on negative effects, including exposure to violent content, reduced sleep quality, poor eating habits, sedentary lifestyles, and many others. The emphasis is placed on children's empathy because empathy is a critical bridge between intelligence and social behavior. The usage of digital technology can be connected with a reduced social interaction, as children spend more time indoors, often alone, rather than engaging in outdoor play that fosters imagination and empathy through interaction with peers. Reduced time spent with other children may impact their ability to recognize and understand others' emotions, thereby diminishing empathy. On the other hand, research has shown that various applications and computer games promote empathy by encouraging the recognition of others' emotions and fostering compassion for characters. The connection between digitalization and intelligence also has both positive and negative dimensions. Educational and challenging applications can stimulate children's thinking and lead to development of intelligence. However, excessive use of digital devices purely for entertainment purposes may have adverse effects, such as decreased concentration and memory in children. The role of parents and educators is emphasized as they play a crucial role in establishing healthy habits and ensuring proper use of digital technology, striking a balance between modern and traditional approaches. Finally, the paper presents ideas and considerations on how to integrate digital technology into preschool settings effectively.
