Abstract
Odobravanje i isplata kredita predstavljaju najvažniji kanal sekundarne emisije novca kojim banke stvarju depozitni novac. Poslovne banke multipliciraju položene depozite odobravajući kredite i time stvaraju dodatnu količinu novca.

Parallel abstract (English)
Deposits accounts represents the money that people hold in banks and other financial institutions, which are used for non-cash payments.Transaction accounts that hold deposits are current and savings accounts. The financial institutions that increase of reduce liquidity are the central banks, and in Croatia it is the Croatian National Bank (HNB) and commercial banks. The currency issue involves two separate but related processes, the creation and withdrawal of money. The main process is the creation of cash, which is carried out by the central bank, which issues paper banknotes that circulate in the economy in the form of cash. The secondary circulation process is conducted by commercial banks. Commercial banks with their lending activities generate money in the process of secondary emission of money. Commercial banks mediate the transfer of funds from savers and borrowers, and as financial institutions they create and multiply money. Approval and disbursement of the loan are the most important channels of secondary emission of money, which creates more deposits. Commercial banks multiply the value of deposits through loans, thus creating an additional amount of money.
