Abstract
U ovome radu riječ je o bankarskim krizama koje su se odvijale kroz povijest u svijetu i u Republici Hrvatskoj. Nakon definiranja, pojmovnog određenja, objašnjavanja uzroka i posljedica bankarskih kriza pažnja je usmjerena na upravljanje rizicima i na prevenciju kriza, prilikom čega je definiran rizik, vrste bankarskih rizika, važnost sustava za upravljanje rizikom te uloga središnjih banaka u prevenciji kriza. U radu su objašnjene najutjecajnije bankarske krize koje su se zbijale kroz povijest u svijetu: Velika gospodarska kriza u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama koja je trajala od 1929. do 1933. godine, zatim kriza u Latinskoj Americi koja se zbila 1980-ih godina, azijska kriza 1990-ih godina te posljednja globalna kriza iz 2008. godine. U zadnjem dijelu rada opisane su bankarske krize u Republici Hrvatskoj, i to prva u razdoblju od 1991. do 1996. godine te druga bankarska kriza iz 1998. godine. Nadalje, u radu je obrađena i tema o sanaciji banaka i troškovima iste te mogućnosti za nove bankarske krize.
Abstract (english)
This paper deals with banking crises that have taken place throughout history and in the Republic of Croatia. After defining, conceptualizing, explaining the causes and consequences of banking crises, attention is focused on risk management and crisis prevention, defining risk, types of banking risk, the importance of risk management system and the role of central banks in crisis prevention. The paper explores the most influential banking crises that have been occurring throughout history: the Great American Economic Crisis, which lasted from 1929 to 1933, and the crisis in Latin America that took place in the 1980s, the Asian crisis 1990s and the last global crisis in 2008. The last part of the paper describes the banking crisis in the Republic of Croatia, the first in the period from 1991 to 1996 and the other banking crisis in 1998. In addition, the paper will address the sanctions of banks and the cost of rehabilitation and the possibilities of new crises.
