Tourism is important to the economic development of the whole country, but also for the region in which it takes place. Although historically not considerable importance to the development of tourism at the regional level, in recent times is becoming increasingly important role in the region evaluation and exploitation of tourism resources. In this case it is important to highlight the complex issue of defining the appropriate tourist region that is particularly important since it is thanks to the tourism regionalization easier to manage specific field and align stakeholders in the planning of new tourist products. Criteria of tourism regionalization are numerous. The state creates an environment that contributes to the development of tourism and cooperation with other producers of tourism development at regional and local level, contributing to increasing the benefits. Some regional areas for it development could thank to tourism. Proper management of the development of tourism in the Croatian regions can encourage the development of landlocked regions and extend the tourist season. The analysis of the situation in the region leads to the conclusion that Continental Croatia has the potential to develop a differentiated and competitive tourism product.
