The foreign direct investment (FDI) in global economy are the main form for conducting international business activities. FDI`s are not only a movement of capital, but also technology, knowledge, all with the aim of increasing competitiveness, employment, trade and economic development.This paper analyses the inflows and outflows of European Union FDI`s. FDI inflows and outflows are often overlapping. Analysis recorded increased FDI flows growth in 2008, after which the financial crisis led to increased fall. After that FDI flows came to stabilization of the movement without increasing or falling. The latest FDI fall in the EU was recorded during 2017 and 2018, which is a result of the impact of global financial changes (external factor). Second fall indicator is so-called Brexit –the withdrawal of the United Kingdom, one of the largest 84economies, from the European Union(an internal factor). EU is the leader in FDI flows followed by the USA. EU and USA participates with more than 50% of total FDI in world FDI flows.The analysis is based on the movements of foreign direct investments through the years, between countries, observing their impact and the possibility of stimulating new investments
