Abstract

The pupils of primary education spend more of their free time in a passive form. Sport activities are less present among them as well an active way of spending free time. Activities carried out in passive form are more frequent which leads to lack of daily needs for mobility. The consequence is unhealthy growth and development, which is reflected in the development of their motor abilities, functional abilities and anthropometric characteristics. The research was conducted with the aim of determining how pupils spend their free time, whether with them and to what extent represented extracurricular activities. Results of pupils motor abilities are divided into two main groups: pupils who exercise and pupils who do not exercise in their free time. The two mutual groups were compared in order to gain insight into the difference of their abilities. The results showed that nearly half of the children involved in the research are inactive in their free time. The results showed that there was no statistically significant difference in the anthropological characteristics between pupils who exercise and pupils who do not exercise in their free time. No matter of not showing statistically significant differences between the children who do exercise and children who do not exercise in their free time, children who exercise in their free time they achieve better results in all analyzed variables in relation to children who do not exercise.
