The graduate thesis talks about contemporary linguistic counseling. The aim of the graduate thesis is the importance of the Croatian language and its proper use. This thesis highlights the most important Croatian counselors since 1990. Linguists with their work and advice worked on the preservation of the Croatian language, and at the same time took care of language culture and language issues. Language tips in the Croatian language are not fully harmonized with the norm because there is no single Croatian language norm, so different normative manuals offer different solutions. Based on the issues of newer language counselors, a survey was conducted to test the knowledge of language counselors and language counselors in secondary schools. As expected, the results of the research indicate devastating results on the knowledge of normative manuals, but also on the thinking of young people about certain language dilemmas and frequent topics of modern language advisors.
