Abstract
Istraživanje tržišta jedna je od temeljnih marketinških funkcija. Proces istraživanja tržišta sastoji se od logičnog redoslijeda postupaka koji se provode da bi se došlo do pouzdanih informacija. Postoje različite vrste istraživanja te metode prikupljanja podataka. Turističke organizacije imaju prednost u tome što su u vremenu potrošnje u mnogo bližoj vezi sa svojim gostima nego što je slučaj s proizvodnim ili trgovačkim organizacijama. U hotelijerstvu istraživanje tržišta je specifično zbog nematerijalnosti usluga - kakvoća i korist od osobno izvršenih usluga teško su mjerljive i procjenjive. Područja istraživanja za potrebe hotelijerstva su raznolika te podjednako važna. Mali broj hotela posluje u okruženju u kojem nema konkurencije te se služe različitim metodama istraživanja tržišta. Kod poduzeća Maistra d.d. to je istraživanje zadovoljstva gostiju putem anketa te kontrola kvalitete usluga i proizvoda posjetom tajnih gostiju.

Market research is one of the fundamental marketing functions. The process of market research consists of a logical sequence of operations performed in order to obtain reliable information. There are different types of research and data collection methods. Tourist organizations have the advantage that they are in a much closer connection with their guests in time of consumption than the production or trade organizations. In the hotel industry market research is specific due to the immateriality of services - quality and benefit from personal performed services are hardly measurable and assessable. Research areas for the hospitality industry are diverse and equally important. A small number of hotels operates in an environment where there is no competition so they use different methods of market research. For Maistra d.d. company it is a guest satisfaction research through questionnaire and quality control of products and services by mystery shopping.
