Abstract Ljudi su sastavni dio svake organizacije i mogu imati presudan utjecaj glede njezine buduće uspješnosti. Svrha procesa selekcije je da u ''moru'' kandidata identificira, odnosno izdvoji onoga koji će sa svojim znanjima, vještinama i iskustvom najbolje upotpuniti upražnjeno radno mjesto u organizaciji i tako pridonijeti povećanju njezine performanse. Suprotno tome, nemarnost u odabiru budućih zaposlenika može prouzrokovati nepotreban trošak vremena i novca, smanjiti produktivnost i narušiti odnose s postojećim kupcima ili poslovnim partnerima. Općenito, selekcijski postupak će se razlikovati od organizacije do organizacije. U ovome radu pobliže je opisan selekcijski postupak koji se, prema svojim fazama, sastoji od: inicijalne selekcije, popunjavanja obrazaca za prijavu, testiranja zaposlenika, sveobuhvatnog intervjua, uvjetne ponude, ispitivanja prošlosti, liječničkog pregleda i ponude stalnog posla. Poslodavcu su pritom dostupni kandidati iz različitih izvora, a dijele na unutarnje i vanjske izvore kandidata. Isto tako, na raspolaganju mu stoje brojni instrumenti i metode selekcije. Jasno je kako odabir adekvatnog zaposlenika zahtjeva velik napor, a pogreške znaju biti poprilično skupe. U radu se navodi nekolicina najčešći pogrešaka i problema koje se događaju tijekom procesa selekcije i savjeti kojima bi se one mogle izbjeći. Također,
u sklopu rada ukratko je analiziran proces selekcije u poduzeću ''LIDL HRVATSKA d.o.o.'', a isti se sastoji od različitih dijelova kao što su: pregled prijava i životopisa, predselekcija, selekcija i donošenje konačne odluka. Nadalje, poduzeće tijekom selekcije koristi različite instrumente. Oni variraju ovisno o radnom mjestu za koje se vrši selekcija. No, tipično uključuju raznolike oblike testova i intervju, dok se za pojedina radna mjesta organizira i testni dan.
Abstract (english) People are an integral part of any organization and can have a crucial impact on its future performance. The purpose of the selection process is to identify the candidate who, with their knowledge, skills and experience, will best complete the vacancy in the organization and thus contribute to increasing its performance. Conversely, negligence in selecting future employees can cause unnecessary waste of time and money, reduce productivity, and disrupt relationships with existing customers or business partners. In general, the selection process will vary from organization to organization. This paper describes in more detail a selection process which, according to its stages, consists of: an initial selection, application forms, employee testing, a comprehensive interview, a conditional offer, background checks, a medical examination and, ultimately, a permanent job offer. The employer can find candidates from various different sources, which are commonly divided into internal and external sources of candidates. Also, there are numerous instruments and selection methods at his disposal. It is clear that choosing the right employee requires a lot of effort and that mistakes can be quite expensive. The paper lists some of the most common mistakes and problems that occur during the selection process and tips on how to avoid them. Also, as part of the paper, the selection process in the company ''LIDL CROATIA Ltd.'' is briefly analyzed. It consists of various parts such as: a review of applications and CVs, pre-selection, selection and final decision making. Furthermore, the company uses different instruments during the selection. They vary depending on the job for which the selection is made. However, they typically include various forms of tests and interviews, while the selection process for some jobs also includes the use of an assessment center.
