Abstract
Područje južne Istre u razdoblju kasnog srednjeg vijeka i početkom ranog novog vijeka zahvatio je val opustošenja. U ovome razdoblju brojna su naselja nestala, stanovništvo se iselilo ili migriralo u druga naselja ostavljajući svoja sela, ljetinu i polja. Uzroci ovog fenomena opustjelih naselja jesu epidemije kuge i malarije koje su na ovome prostoru bile učestale, potom ratna razaranja, osobito rata koji se vodio između Venecije i Austrije u Istri od 1508. g. do 1516. g. te Uskočkog rata od 1615. g. do 1618. godine. Osim ovih uzroka klimatske promjene koje su se zbivale u ovo vrijeme, pojava “malog ledenog doba“, dodatno je poremetila životnu ravnotežu na ovim prostorima. Ovim se radom, pomoću dostupnih izvora, nastoji ponovno pronaći i ubicirati nestala naselja južne Istre.

The area of southern Istria in the Late Middle Ages and the beginning of the early modern age caught the wave of devastation. In this period many settlements disappeared, the population has moved out or migrated to other villages leaving their villages, crops and fields. The causes of this phenomenon deserted settlements are epidemics of plague and malaria that are in this area were frequent, then war destruction, especially of the war between Venice and Austria in Istria from 1508. To 1516 ., and Uskoks War of 1615. to 1618. years. In addition to these causes of climate change which occurred at this time, the phenomenon of "Little Ice Age", has further upset the balance of life in this region. This paper, by using available sources, seeks to re-locate disappeared settlement in southern Istria.
