Abstract Filantropija podrazumijeva davanje u općekorisne i humanitarne svrhe, pomaganje u novcu ili robi, volonterskim radom. Moderne temelje filantropije je postavio Andrew Carnegie u djelu, The Gospel of Wealth.
Abstract (english) Philanthropy means giving for public and humanitarian purposes, helping with money or goods, volunteer work. Philanthropy is based on personal and social values, such as justice, solidarity, responsibility, and as far as the individual is concerned on moral principles, love, well-being and empathy for others. It can be explained in several ways, but it always has one goal, and that is to invest in contributing to the common good of the individual, society, or community. In fact, corporate philanthropy is a private initiative for the public good, which ultimately affects the quality of life. The modern foundations of philanthropy were laid by Andrew Carnegie in his work, The Gospel of Wealth. Philanthropy found the foundations of its work in the spiritual and traditional values of Christianity. A philanthropist is a person who systematically wants to help people develop all their abilities in harmony with nature, in order to achieve a happy and fulfilled life. There are no restrictions on philanthropy, so it does not have to be related only to money, but also has a broader definition. In addition to money, donations can be made through products and services and volunteer work of employees.Philanthropy is divided into three types, namely individual philanthropy, organized philanthropy and corporate philanthropy. Corporate philanthropy has many advantages, and some of them are the motivation, satisfaction and success of employees, business partners, clients and ultimately all stakeholders of the local community in which they operate.
