Abstract
U ovom završnom radu predstaviti ću članak 9 japanskog ustava odnosno takozvanu pacifističku odredbu kojom se Japan odrekao rata i, u svrhu održavanja mira, odrekao držanja ratnih potencijala i vojnih institucija. Metodom analiziranja dostupnih članaka i knjiga na tu temu, predstaviti ću članak 9 s njegovom povijesnom pozadinom, formiranje Snaga obrane i njihov status i stanje, te argumente za i protiv revizije članka 9 japanskog ustava kako bi se razriješio problem istovremenog postojanja pacifističkog članka i jake vojne institucije u Japanu. U ovom radu tvrdim da je za rješavanje navedenog problema potrebna revizija članka 9 kako bi se formalno utvrdio status Snaga obrane i Japanu pružila mogućnost konkretnog širenja pacifizma u radu sa institucijama kao što je UN.
Abstract (english)
In this final paper, I will present Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution, i.e. the socalled pacifist provision by which Japan renounced war and, for the purpose of maintaining peace, renounced holding war potentials and military institutions. In order to solve the problem of the simultaneous existence of a pacifist article and a strong military institution in Japan, by using the method of analyzing the available articles and books on this topic, I will present Article 9 with its historical background, formation of the Defense Forces and their status and condition, as well as arguments for and against the revision of Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution. With this paper, I claim that the solution to this problem is the revision of Article 9 in order to formally assert the status of the Defense Forces and provide Japan with the possibility of concrete expansion of pacifism in working with institutions such as the UN.
