Abstract IPv6, kao nasljednik IPv4, donosi brojne prednosti, uključujući veći adresni prostor i bolju podršku za sigurnost i mobilnost.
Abstract (english) IPv6, as the successor to IPv4, brings a number of advantages, including a larger address space and better support for security and mobility. However, despite these advantages, IPv6 adoption globally faces a number of barriers that limit the speed and scale of migration. This paper investigates the key problems and obstacles facing the adoption of the IPv6 protocol, analyzes the methods to overcome these barriers and describes the research method carried out in order to better understand this problem. The research was conducted using an interdisciplinary approach to analysis, combining technical data with social and economic context, in order to gain a comprehensive insight into this complex problem with the aim of understanding the main obstacles hindering wider and faster integration into the global network infrastructure. The main result of this research is the identification of key barriers to the adoption of the IPv6 protocol. The most important barriers include the complexity of migrating from IPv4, fear of security risks, high implementation costs, and limited awareness and training related to IPv6. Deficiencies in existing policies and norms that further complicate the adoption of IPv6 have also been recognized. Adoption of the IPv6 protocol is critical to maintaining the future viability of the Internet, but it faces a number of barriers. The paper emphasizes the importance of awareness, education and support of organizations, as well as technical approaches to facilitate migration. The implementation of IPv6 is not only a technical challenge, but also a business decision that requires strategy and support in order to realize all the potential of this protocol.
