Abstract (english) | Since the Early Stone Age, the dance culture and art as we know today exist and is innate in every human being. Through the movement, the dance is manifested as an expressive visual art of short scenes, which are contributed by the strength, balance and dancer’s grace. Throughout all the historical periods and nations of the world, a dance is transmitted as a cultural wealth. From the notable figures, it is important to mention Emil Jaques-Dalcroze, the dancer who first developed the idea of rhythmic dance based on his thoughts; Isadora Duncan, the founder of the contemporary dance and Rudolf Laban, a ballet teacher, choreographer and theoretician. Dances are divided into traditional, social and artistic, of which, in Croatia, the most prominent are the traditional ones that were developed throughout Croatian dance zones. While the traditional dances are part of the culture of each country, social dances are part of social status. These are standard dances known all around the world (English and Viennese Waltz, Tango, Slowfox, Quickstep). As a combination of social and court dances, a ballet was developed during the Renaissance period in Italy and we define it as a musical dance performance with action. Respecting the child's need for a movement, it is important to note that the most appropriate dance activity for preschool children is a rhythmic dance and rhythmic gymnastics. It encourages a good body posture in children, harmonious morphological development and the development of motor skills, by stimulating the normal operations of body functions. |
