Abstract
La metafora non è una semplice figura retorica, essa è più presente nel linguaggio quotidiano di quanto noi ne siamo consci. Le metafore concettuali vengono costruite grazie alle esperienze che sperimentiamo ogni giorno. Ogni metafora concettuale è composta da due domini ed è appunto l’esperienza a permettere un normale e mutuo funzionamento tra di essi. Le metafore di orientamento sono un chiaro esempio di ciò, esse sfruttano le nostre esperienze fisiche ed emotive per esprimere ciò che ha che... More vedere con l’orientamento spaziale. Le metafore ontologiche concretizzano entità astratte, eventi o azioni attraverso oggetti tangenti. Confrontando i due tipi di metafora concettuale in italiano, in croato e in inglese si sono viste le somiglianze tra le tre lingue, a favore della versione debole della relatività linguistica (conosciuta anche come ipotesi Sapir-Whorf). Abstract (english)
Metaphor is not a mere rhetorical figure, it is present in everyday language more than we are aware. Conceptual metaphors are based on experiences we experience daily. Every conceptual metaphor has two domains and it is the experience that allows a normal and mutual functioning between them. Orientational metaphors are a clear example of that, they exploit our physical and emotional experiences to express what concerns spatial orientation. Comparing those conceptual metaphors in italian, croatian and english we saw how close the metaphors are in the three languages, in favour of the weak version of the linguistic relativity (known also as Sapir-Whorf hypothesis). Metafora nije obična retorička figura, ona je prisutna u našem jeziku i više nego što smo toga svjesni. Konceptualne metafore nastaju iz našeg svakodnevnog iskustva. Svaka konceptualna metafora sastoji se od dviju domena, a naše iskustvo omogućuje njihovo normalno i obostrano funkcioniranje. Orijentacijske metafore jasan su dokaz toga, one koriste naša tjelesna i emotivna iskustva da bi izrazile sve vezano za prostornu orijentaciju. Uspoređujući orijentacijske i ontološke metafore na talijanskom, hrvatskom i engleskom jeziku vidjeli smo sličnosti među tim jezicima, što ide u korist slaboj verziji jezične relativnosti (poznata kao Sapir-Whorf hipoteza).
