Tradicionalne mažoretkinje 1999. godine konačno formiraju svoj savez pod nazivom EMA - European majorettes’ association (Europska mažoret asocijacija). 23. siječnja 1999. godine je HMS (Hrvatski mažoret- savez) preuzeo sve pravilnike natjecanja, suce i infrastrukturu bivšeg saveza Hrvatske udruge mažoretkinja (HUM). Osnovni formacijski oblici tima mažoretkinja su kvadrat, krug, pravokutnik, trokut. Formaciju čine kolone i vrste, tj. redovi.
Abstract (english) Three theories about the emergence of majorettes are mentioned, one of which is that majorettes were created as a replacement for the tambour majoru. It is this theory that is considered official by the EMA. In 1999, traditional majorettes finally formed an alliance called EMA - European Majorettes' Association. On January 23, 1999, HMS (Croatian Majorette Association) took over all the rules of competition, referees and infrastructure of the former Croatian Association of Majorettes (HUM). One of the oldest majorette teams in the Republic of Croatia is the First Majorettes of Rijeka, founded in 1995. Within one team, there are 4 teams divided by age. The oldest, senior staff receives members between the ages of 15 and 25, the junior staff between the ages of 12 and 14, the cadet staff between 8 and 11 years, and the youngest staff receives members between the ages of 4 and 7. Parade defile and static choreography are two dance expressions of majorette dance. The basis in the dance expression to which the dance elements and walking structures are later upgraded is certainly the posture. There are 7 stages of wielding a stick. Major dance can also be called step by beat dance. This means that one step is performed at one beat. The rhythm may change within certain music, but the rhythmic uniformity must remain the same. Eight beats, form one eight. The uniform consists of a hat, jacket, skirt and boots. The basic formation forms of a team of majorettes are square, circle, rectangle and triangle. The formation consists of columns and rows. Music must exclusively be march or another two-quarter (2/4) or four-quarter (4/4) measure. The most pronounced movements in the majorette dance are the movements of the arms and legs.
