In this final paper, the activities and roles of management are defined, as well as selected management functions, which are after the theoretical part analyzed on the example of management of Valamar Riviere d.d.. One of the main tasks of management is to establish a good relationship among the members of team in order to maximize profits, market competitiveness and reduce operating costs. In organizations, there are usually three levels of management - lower, middle and top management, so each level has its own role and tasks. In addition to levels and roles, management also has its functions that it performs, and they are divided into five functions: planning, organizing, human resources management, leadership and control. Although some managers spend more time on individual functions than others, but all functions must be equally important. In order for an organization to operate successfully, managers must follow the correct order of assigned functions.
