Abstract
Predatorsko određivanje cijena pojavilo se kao odgovor na pojavu sve većega broja konkurentskih poduzeća u tržišnome natjecanju, i to kao jedan od oblika zlouporabe vladajućega položaja. Predatorsko ponašanje dolazi od strane poduzetnika-predatora koji snižava cijene svojih proizvoda ili usluga toliko nisko da i samoga sebe dovodi do financijskih gubitaka, sve s ciljem izbacivanja slabijih konkurenata s tržišta. Do svoga plijena dolazi putem potrošača koje mami niskim, a zatim oštećuje visokim cijenama. Naime, nakon početnoga snižavanja cijena, zadatak predatora je da se pobrine da je konkurencija odustala od utrke te da osigura dovoljan broj prepreka za ulazak novih konkurenata na tržište. Tada može povisiti cijene svojih proizvoda u skladu sa svojim željama i mogućnostima potrošača. Granica između legalne eliminacije konkurenata i predatorskoga određivanja cijena je vrlo tanka, a u ovome radu istaknuti su svi potrebni koraci u analizi jedne takve aktivnosti.
Abstract (english)
Predatory pricing has emerged in response to the increasing number of competing firms in competition, as a form of abuse of dominance. Predatory behavior comes from a predator entrepreneur who lowers the prices of his products or services so low that he causes himself financial losses, all with the aim of driving weaker competitors out of the market. Its prey comes from consumers who lure low and the damage high prices. After initial price cuts, the predator’s job is to make sure that the competition has dropped out of the race and to provide a sufficient number of barriers to entry for new competitors. It can then raise the prices of its products in accordance with its wishes and consumer capabilities. The boundary between the legal elimination of competirors and predatory pricing is very thin, and this highlights all the necessary steps in analyzing such an activity.
