Abstract Cilj rada bio je analiza prehrambenih navika i tjelesne aktivnosti osnovnoškolaca na području IŽ u svrhu procjene potreba za organizacijom edukativnih radionica za učenike i roditelje o zdravim prehrambenim navikama i aktivnostima osnovnoškolaca. Ispitanici su bili učenici osnovnih škola na području Istarske županije. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 182 ispitanika, dobi od 7 do 15 godina, provodilo se od svibnja 2022. do siječnja 2023. godine pomoću anketnog upitnika kreiranog putem Google obrasca. Ukupan broj ispitanika uključenih u istraživanje nakon primijenjenih kriterija isključenja bio je 175 (49% djevojčica i 51% dječaka). Anketa je obrađena metodama deskriptivne statistike u programu Microsoft Excel 2010 te su rezultati prikazani grafički.
Rezultati: U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 90 učenika (51%) i 85 učenica (49%).Većina učenika živi na selu (46%), u obiteljima s više članova kućanstva (64%). Među roditeljima/skrbnicima, najviše je onih sa završenom srednjom školom (52,29%), gdje majke/skrbnice uglavnom imaju završenu višu ili visoku školu/fakultet (67%), a očevi/skrbnici završenu srednju školu (61%). Od 175 učenika, 3 ima tešku pretilost (2%), 20 je pretilo (11%), 29 preuhranjeno (17%), 9 ih je pothranjeno (5%) i 1 ima tešku pothranjenost (1%). 113 učenika (64%) ima normalnu tjelesnu težinu za svoju dob. U sklopu školske marende najviše se poslužuju obroci od voća (74,86%), mliječni proizvodi (68,00%), mesni proizvodi (57,71%) i pekarski proizvodi (56,57%). Voda je najčešće piće kod 95% učenika. Najrjeđe se konzumiraju energetski napitci (6%). Kavu ponekad ili svakodnevno konzumira nešto više od 26% ispitanika, dok alkohol ponekad ili svakodnevno konzumira oko 10% ispitanika. Većina ispitanika bavi se nekom tjelesnom aktivnošću izvan škole (73%). 57% ih provodi između 1-3h dnevno ispred računala, mobitela i slično, dok 1-3h dnevno vani na otvorenom provodi 64%. 67% smatra da im je tjelesna težina u redu, a 14% smatra da se ne hrani zdravo.
Zaključak: Uz problem prekomjerne tjelesne težine i pretilosti uočeno je da među osnovnoškolcima IŽ ima i drugih problema životnih navika (pothranjenost, konzumacija kave i alkohola). U ozbiljnom zdravstvenom riziku zbog teške pothranjenosti i pothranjenosti ili teške pretilosti i pretilosti (prema izračunatom ITM-u s obzirom na spol i dob) je 19% ispitanika. Rezultati upućuju na potrebu kontinuirane edukacije učenika, roditelja i djelatnika škole o važnosti zdrave prehrane i redovite tjelesne aktivnosti u cilju promicanja zdravlja i prevencije bolesti.
Abstract (english) Objective: to analyze the eating habits and physical activity of elementary school students in the IŽ region, to assess the necessity of organizing educational workshops for students and parents about healthy eating habits and activities of elementary school students. The respondents were elementary school students in Istria County. 182 respondents aged 7 to 15 participated in the research, which was conducted from May 2022 to January 2023 using a questionnaire created via a Google form. The total number of subjects included in the study according to the exclusion criteria applied was 175 (49% girls and 51% boys). The survey was processed using descriptive statistics methods in Microsoft Excel 2010 program.
Results: 90 male students (51%) and 85 female students (49%) participated in the study. Most students live in rural areas (46%), in families with multiple household members (64%). Of the parents/caregivers, the majority have a high school degree (52.29%), with mothers/caregivers mostly having a college or college degree (67%) and fathers/caregivers having a high school degree (61%). Of the 175 students, 3 are severely obese (2%), 20 are obese (11%), 29 are overweight (17%), 9 are malnourished (5%), and 1 is severely malnourished (1%). 113 students (64%) have a normal body weight for their age. Within the school lunch, the most common foods served are fruits (74.86%), dairy products (68.00%), meat products (57.71%), and baked goods (56.57%). Water is the most consumed beverage for 95% of students. Energy drinks are the least frequently consumed (6%). Just over 26% of respondents consume coffee sometimes or daily, while alcohol is consumed by about 10% of respondents sometimes or daily. Most respondents are physically active outside of school (73%). 57% of them spend between 1and 3 hours per day in front of a computer, cell phone, etc., while 64% spend 1to 3 hours per day outdoors. 67% think that their body weight is okay, and 14% think that they do not eat healthy.
Conclusion: besides the problem of overweight and obesity, it was found that there are other lifestyle problems among primary school students in IŽ (malnutrition, coffee, and alcohol consumption). Serious health risk due to undernutrition or severe obesity and obesity exists in 19% of respondents. The results point to the need to continuously educate students, parents, and school staff about the importance of a healthy diet and regular physical activity to promote health and prevent disease.
