Abstract
Benchmarking je postao široko prihvaćena praksa u mnogim gospodarskim sektorima, a u hotelijerstvu je dobio eksponencijalan značaj posljednjeg desetljeća. Kada hotelijeri znaju što je potrebno mjeriti benchmarkingom, oni ponekad nisu točno upućeni kako da to učine. Benchmarking je pristup upravljanju u hotelijerstvu kojim se identificira tko je najbolji i što ga čini tako uspješnim. Njegova primjena doživljava sve veću popularnost. U domeni upravljanja u hotelijerstvu, benchmarking se obično pozicionira kao proširenje postojećeg programa ukupne kvalitete hotela, te kao način na koji se uspostavljaju novi, više relevantni i učinkoviti standardi izvedbe. Benchmarking identificira gdje se hotelska tvrtka trenutno nalazi u usporedbi s onim gdje hotelijeri žele da ide. Ako žele poboljšati bilo koji proces u svom poslovanju, benchmarking je način da se sagleda kako mogu napredovati i postati uspješniji kroz navođenje koraka potrebnih za postizanje njihova cilja.
Abstract (english)
Benchmarking has become a widely accepted practice in many economic sectors, and in the hotel industry it has gained exponential importance in the last decade. When hoteliers know what needs to be measured by benchmarking, they are sometimes not exactly spotted and how to do it. Benchmarking is an approach to management in the hotel industry that identifies who is the best and what makes it successful. Its application is gaining popularity. In the field of hotel management, benchmarking is usually positioned as an extension of the existing program of overall hotel quality, and as a way to establish a new, higher relevant and effective standard of performance. Benchmarking identifies where a hotel business is currently located compared to where hoteliers want to go. If you were to improve any process in your business, benchmarking is a way to see how they can progress and become more successful by outlining the steps needed to achieve their goal.
