Abstract
This paper presents the European funds used in the tourism sector of the Republic of Croatia and the Brod-Posavina County. The paper begins with a description of the history and development of the European Union. It then proceeds to describe the EU funds themselves, their structure, the process of fund allocation and the criteria for project approval. Furthermore, it outlines the tourism potential of the Republic of Croatia and the significance of tourism for the Croatian economy. An overview of the current state and trends in Croatian tourism is provided. The second part of the paper focuses on the European funds in the Brod-Posavina County, providing a general description of the county and the utilization of EU funds within it. The advantages and disadvantages of using European funds in the Brod-Posavina County are highlighted. Finally, the paper concludes with the author's findings on the topic.
