The modern era of our daily brings big changes. The fact is that the development of technology and bustle of life affect physical health. People are becoming more passive and less time devoted to dealing with his own body, or health. Playing sports and taking care of the physical and mental health should be developed from an early age in order to prevent negative consequences. Playing sports, the child has the opportunity to develop and work on their self-esteem, and sport provides many opportunities for socializing and making friends. This work describes the history of athletics through disciplines. Also, the places where the athletics can be implemented, but also to that age categories competing athletes. The role of parents as the primary model, the child is very important. With this work I wish to encourage teachers and parents and all users on the motivation for sport and education about the same.
