Modern tourists attach great importance to the gastronomic offer in tourist destinations. Gastronomy became one of the motives for their travels. When choosing a tourist destination, tourists do not bypass the area of gastronomy. An important factor for tourists are the original traditional dishes prepared in the old fashioned way. The dishes in question allow them to get to know individual regions and regions and experience an original experience. For this reason, numerous tourist destinations promote the inclusion of their own gastronomic offer in tourist products. Also, numerous tourist destinations are presented on the tourist market as gastronomically rich and original destinations. When it comes to the Republic of Croatia, gastronomic tourism has not been developed in accordance with its potential and is still not approached on the basis of concrete strategies and plans, that is, it is still not developed on the basis of clearly set goals.
