Corporate social responsibility is now required and increasingly popular practice, because of all stakeholders benefit, either in the form of improved competitiveness, efficiency, better quality of life, preserve the environment or the protection of human health. The aim of this paper is to investigate empirically socially responsible behavior in the banking industry and the ways in which banks are activated and involved in addressing some of the social and environmental issues and problems. The purpose of this paper is to explore and explain the socially responsible practices and to demonstrate the depth of implementation CSR in banking. This research will try to explain the ways of social responsibility of banks that shows what methods and procedures are used in order to harmonize their business with sustainable development and the size of their responsibilities. Business analysis indicates sufficient involvement of banks in corporate social responsibility. However, it still needs to be developed and improved, on the other hand it should also improve reporting on the activities of corporate social responsibility of banks in Croatia.
