This papper emphasizes to the potentials needed for the development of healht tourism and their existance in Croatia. The effects of climate, sun, thermomineral waters, sea, algee, sea and freshwater peloids, medical properties of plants and naftalan oils are being used in health tourism to acchive physical and mental healing. The user is any tourist who lives a certain way of life and accordingly separates part of the day to apply some of the mentioned factors. Croatia has great preconditions and potentials for the development of this kind of tourism. The aim of the paper is to point out the existing offer of health tourism in Croatia and the opportunities for further development of health tourism and unused medical sites and resources. Therefore, at the beginning of the work, the resources and factors necessary for successful development of health tourism are described and it is stated that the same factors exist in Croatia. The introduction introduces the reader to the topic of the papper and contains the goals and purpose of author's research. The first part of the paper explains basic concepts related to health tourism, namely: selective forms of tourism and tourist of special interest, the concept of health tourism and its forms. The second part of the paper deals with health tourism in the Republic of Croatia. The already existing health tourism offer, health tourism development plan and strategy made by the Ministry od tourism, and unused medical places were mentioned.
