Today, when tourism thrives in Croatia, restoration is one of the most important items in this area of activity. There are many skills required for restaurant management; from the ability to manage human resources, to organize, to guide people, to control everything that is happening in the restaurant, to the management of innovations, and to design how to stay in the trend. Constantly changing trends in the world creates problems but also pressure on restaurant leaders because they have to figure out how to stay on the market and how to be competitive. Those who are capable to deal with all that are a good choice for leading the restaurant. In this paper is described which people are most likely to be leaders and what do they have to be a good leader, which puts them in front of other people, as well as managers who are closely related do leaders. Furthermore, the paper discusses the challenges of restoration, and one of these challenges is already mentioned - competitiveness and innovation. These are the most important items that managers / restaurant managers have to bear. At the end of the work are given examples of people who have succeeded in this endeavor and have become one of the best in the world.
