The valorization of Croatia's natural resources includes the basic and most important natural resources and natural conditions that characterize the national wealth of the Republic of Croatia, in order to find out and conclude how much resources the country has, how much resource capacity is unused. At the beginning of the first and second chapters, the concept of basic resources is defined, and then in the continuation of the second and third chapters, based on statistical data of authorized institutions for monitoring and determining the actual or valorized state of natural resources, specific data and analyzes of tables, graphs and figures are given. The fourth chapter defines the importance of selected basic economic sectors in Croatia. Agriculture as a primary activity of strategic importance explains and points to the problems and neglect of the progress of this sector despite the abundant natural resources. With special emphasis on the tourism sector, which has made the most of natural resources for profit, it is an indispensable fact that the development of tourism is developing other no less important economic sectors, construction and transport. The fifth chapter introduces the concept and goals of sustainable development of the Republic of Croatia, its strategic plans which are a signpost for the direction in which Croatia wants to move in accordance with the requirements and regulations of the European Union. The advantages and disadvantages of strategic goals are assessed, and suggestions for improving the current situation in the national economy are made. In the end, it is concluded that Croatia has a long way to go and a wide range of opportunities to use natural resources and existing resources to connect these basic sectors to export and improve domestic consumption to create a brand in foreign markets and strengthen its competitive position.
