Abstract

Main subject of this final work are endangered species in the Adriatic sea. deals with the risk of animal species in the Adriatic Sea. An Endangered (EN) species is a species which has been categorized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List as likely to become extinct. Since the preservation and beauty of the Adriatic Sea is what we all are proud of and that its biodiversity is just stunning, the goal of this work is to raise awareness of environmental protection. It turned out that the Homo sapiens (lat. wise, intelligent man) is the greatest enemy when it comes to other inhabitants of this planet. Every individual must be aware that he can not function without the other living beings, some of which live on land, while others find their living space at the sea. From an early age, particularly through pre-school education, and later on through the school we can and we need children to develop love and respect for nature and preserved environment. By studying the relevant literature from various sources, in this work are described the most popular endangered species in the Adriatic Sea. Children, parents and teachers especially should be well informed, and the environmental problems should be regularly indicate, but we mst also offer solutions. The work of these themes is difficult to come to an end, and not to mention the Indian chief Seattle and his letter addressed to President Franklin Pierce in response to the offer to buy the Indian land by white people. Every word leaves you breathless, but I’ll end the work by quoting only the following few lines: „So we will consider your offer to buy our land. If we decide to accept, I will make one condition: The white man must treat the animals of this land as his brothers. I am a savage and do not understand any other way. I have seen a thousand rotting buffaloes on the prairie left by the white man who shot them from a passing train. I am a savage and do not understand how the smoking iron horse can be more important than the buffalo that we kill only to stay alive. What is man without the animals? If all the animals were gone, man would die from great loneliness of spirit . Whatever happens to the animals, soon happens to man. All things are connected.“
