Abstract
Turisti su u konstantnoj potrazi za novim znanjima i iskustvima i upravo zbog toga svaka destinacija mora ulagati u obogaćivanje vlastitog turističkog proizvoda. Kulturni turizam, kao jedan od najvažnijih segmenata turizma, mora nuditi što zanimljivije i bogatije proizvode kako bi privukao što veći broj posjetitelja. Hrvatska svojim kulturnim resursima, koji su osnovni preduvjet za kreiranje kulturno-turističkih proizvoda, znatno doprinosi razvoju kulturnog turizma. Iako u Hrvatskoj danas kulturni turizam sve više i intenzivnije zaokuplja pozornost javnosti treba uzeti u obzir da je Hrvatska relativno mlada država, s njezinom zemljopisnom i kulturnom raznolikošću neće biti lako osloniti se samo na kulturne resurse kako bi se kreirao uspješan proizvod. Kulturno nasljeđe daje autentičnost destinaciji, na taj način čineći je drugačijom i prepoznatljivom. Upravo se na kulturnom nasljeđu često temelji konkurentska prednost u odnosu na druge destinacije. Međutim, bogato kulturno nasljeđe nije dovoljno, njime treba kvalitetno marketinški upravljati. Jedino nasljeđe koje je maksimalno u funkciji turizma može pružati i maksimalne ekonomske efekte.

Tourists have been in constant search for new knowledge and experiences and that is why every destination has to invest into the enrichment of their own tourism product. Cultural tourism, as one of the most important tourism segments, has to offer interesting and attractive products in order to attract as much visitors as possible. Croatia with its cultural resources, which are a basic precondition to the creation of cultural and touristic products, has been considerably contributing to the development of cultural tourism. Cultural heritage provides a destination with certain authenticity, it makes it recognisable and different and it represent a competitive advantage in contrast to other destinations. However, rich cultural heritage on its own does not mean anything, in marketing terms it should be managed properly as well in order to yield economic results.
