The topic of this final thesis is the process of measuring emissions of pollutants into the air from stationary sources (NOx, CO, CO2, O2, SO2, smoke number, opacity, and particulate matter). The current legislation in the field of air protection and emission measurement is outlined, as well as the sources of pollution and standardized (accredited) procedures for measuring emissions in real field conditions. The thesis also describes the methodology for measuring emissions, measurement frequency, determination of the measuring site, sampling procedure, emission limit values for waste gases, and an overview of typical measuring systems and devices. In the final part of the thesis, an example of emissions measurement from a small furnace using extra light fuel oil is presented, along with an example of particulate emissions measurement at real exhaust outlets (chimneys), with concrete processing of raw data and an assessment of the associated measurement uncertainty.
