Abstract Plaće predstavljaju naknadu koju u financijskom smislu zaposlenik dobiva za obavljen rad u organizaciji.
Abstract (english) Salaries are the financial compensation that an employee receives for work done in an organization. They are determined by the employment contract, collective agreement or rulebook, whereby the Labor Law prescribes the minimum wage until the maximum wage is determined. However, the payment of wages is not only an obligation of the employer determined by law, but it is also an instrument of motivation and a driver of the workforce. Motivation is one of the biggest challenges faced by managers around the world, as it affects employee performance and thus the extent to which organizations are able to achieve their goals and justify their existence. When determining salaries, it is necessary to evaluate the work performance of the individual and his expectations. Wage determination is a process that takes place before the conclusion of the employment relationship and is a process of negotiation between the employer and the employee, and must be guided by the real situation in the labor market and the realistic expectations of both parties. Special groups such as supervisors and top managers are paid more because of the sensitivity of their work. However, research has shown that salary is not a sufficient motivating factor to maintain high employee motivation, especially if there is no equality of salaries or at least a clear distribution of salaries. Satisfaction with working conditions and a sense of acceptance from the organization is often a far more important motivating factor that contributes to higher employee productivity. Nevertheless, wages are a fundamental motivation for work because they provide the most important material means for the survival of workers.
