Nowadays, when technology is evolving more and more, computer forensics must keep up with new technologies and ways of solving certain types of crime. Although computers have been in use for half a century, it was only with the advent of personal computers that the rate of computer crime increased. As digital technology advances, so does the number of misuse of personal data, computers, cell phones, computer networks, etc. Computer forensics consists of all methods and tools for identifying, collecting, preserving, searching, analyzing, and presenting evidence that is critical to investigation. Depending on what kind of investigation it is, forensics will focus on a specific part of the information system. The evidence that needs to be found cannot be found with the help of standard operating system tools, but with the help of specialized forensic tools. Evidence can be found in files, emails, databases, text messages, calls, temporary files, cookies, system records, etc. In addition to a basic knowledge of forensic methods, professionals must constantly update their knowledge and computer skills to always be one step in front of the perpetrator.
