Abstract
U prošlom stoljeću ostvarene su najveće stope rasta, i iako svjesni posljedica neracionalne eksploataciji resursa, nije se vodila briga o zaštiti okoliša na način na koji se trebala. Niti danas se ne vodi dovoljna briga oko zaštite okoliša i očuvanju prirodnih bogatstava za buduće generacije. Danas bi održivi razvoj trebao biti glavni cilj svakog gospodarstva, a energetska učinkovitost jedna od najvažnijih mjera postizanja održivog razvoja, no nažalost to nije uvijek tako. Održivi razvoj je razvoj koji zadovoljava potrebe današnjice bez ugrožavanja sposobnosti budućih generacija u zadovoljavanju njihovih potreba. Energetska učinkovitost danas je u svijetu prepoznata kao najjeftiniji i najbrži način postizanja ciljeva održivog razvoja. Poboljšanja energetske učinkovitosti doprinose smanjenju štetnih emisija u okoliš, većoj industrijskoj konkurentnosti, otvaranju novih radnih mjesta i povećanju sigurnosti opskrbe energijom. Energetski održiva gradnja predstavlja smanjenje energetskih potreba u kućanstvima bez smanjenja kvalitete stanovanja. Održiva gradnja smanjuje utjecaj građevinske djelatnosti na okoliš, a temelji se na promicanju građevnih materijala koji nisu štetni po okoliš, energetske učinkovitosti zgrada i gospodarenju otpadom tijekom čitavog životnog ciklusa građevine od izgradnje do rušenja. Postoji više tipova energetski efikasne gradnje kao na primjer nisko energetska kuća, pasivna kuća, kuća nulte energije, energetski samodostatna kuća i plus energetska kuća. Prirodno graditeljstvo koristi isključivo prirodne materijale te se brine o energetskoj učinkovitosti. Tipovi gradnje su kuće od slame, kuće od nabijene zemlje, drveta, kamena, te kamene kuće. Gradnja niskoenergetskih, pasivnih i prirodnih kuća nešto je skuplje u odnosu na gradnju standardne kuće, no kroz uštede u energiji postoji ekonomska i ekološka opravdanost investiranja u takve objekte. Istraživanjem provedenim u ovom radu dokazan je utjecaj načina gradnje na potrošnju energije i utjecaj na okoliš.

In the last century, when the world had the biggest economical growth rates, and although people were aware of consequences of irrational resource exploitation, there was slight and unadequate care of environment protection and preservation. At present, care for the environment is still not on the appropriate level, and preservence of the environment for the future generations is questionable. Economies should strive today towards sustainable development, and energy efficiency should be one of the prime measures for reaching the point of sustainable development, due to the fact that its the most afordable and fastest way. Energy efficiency contributes thoward reduction of toxic emisions, industrial competitiveness, opening of new job placements and safe energy supply. Energy efficient construction, reduces the energy demand and consumption, without lowering the quality of living. Sustainable construction lowers the impact of construction on the environment and uses materials that have less impact, takes into account the whole life cicle of buildings from construction, through years of use to demolition, and takes care of energy efficiency. There are several kinds of energy efficient constructions, and most common are low energy house, passive house or so called ultra low-energy house, zero-energy house or so called net zero energy house, autonomous building or house with no bills and energy- plus house. Green building is allso a part of sustainable construction ,but green or so called ecological building uses exclusively only natural materials for building energy efficient buildings. There are several most common kinds of green buildings: straw bale houses, houses out of wood, rammed earth houses and stone houses. Construction of low energy, passive and green houses is slightly more expensive than standard construction, but there is economical and ecological validity for investment in these tipe of buildings. In this research we demonstrated how various methods of construction have an effect on energy consumption and environment.
