The paper provides an overview of the concept of sports tourism, defines its significance and development in Croatia, with special emphasis on Dalmatia. This region has a long history of sports events, but also a growing need to adapt to new trends in the tourism industry, with the aim of diversifying the offer and extending the tourist season. The goal of the research was to show the importance of sports tourism as one of the key segments of the overall tourist offer and to see how sports activities can contribute to the long-term development of tourism in the region. Dalmatia is a region that stands out for its natural beauty, rich cultural heritage and historical tradition. Based on this, sports tourism is developing as an important component that provides tourists with the possibility of an active vacation, but also encourages the local population to participate in sports activities and preserve natural and cultural resources.
